A.U. Optronics (AUO) has been developing Advanced Reflectionless Technology (A.R.T.), which was showcased at the Touch Taiwan trade show. The 32-inch, 4K AHVA panel, AUO's own variant of IPS, was set up to reduce reflections in the area where it was being displayed. Compared to other displays, the panel appeared to be less reflective. However, it is difficult to judge the technology on a show floor, so reviews are needed before a final verdict can be made. A.R.T. looks promising in reducing unwanted reflections.
The panel is one of the first 4K panels capable of delivering a 240 Hz refresh rate. However, finding a graphics card capable of driving all games at that refresh rate and 4K resolution will be challenging. The brightness is only 400 cd/m², but AUO claims a 1 ms grey-to-grey response time with overdrive enabled and a 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, which is better than most 4K gaming panels on the market today. Unfortunately, AHVA panels suffer from IPS glow, which can be seen in the second image below.
