The flagship graphics card, GeForce RTX 5090, is in high demand in Asia for its dual-use in AI acceleration farms. In the US, it faces import tariffs and unethical retail practices. However, gamers in Europe are in luck. According to ComputerBase.de, their price-tracker has found RTX 5090 cards available at prices lower than the MSRP for the first time worldwide.
The MSI RTX 5090 Ventus 3X OC was initially launched at an MSRP of USD $1,999. German retailer Mindfactory.de briefly listed the card at €1,999 including VAT, which was below the MSRP and street prices in the US and Asia. The price was later corrected to €2,600. Overall, the trend in graphics card pricing shows that EEA countries currently offer the best prices due to lower import tariffs compared to the US, less scalper gray-marketing, and lower demand for cards like the RTX 5090 for non-gaming or professional use.
