If you recall GALAX's previous successful overclocking achievement, it was all thanks to Team OGS and their customized Extreme OC (XOC) BIOS for the RTX 5090D HOF. Now, this unique XOC BIOS has been discovered online, thanks to a keen-eyed post by OCNet user digitaljack3t. This firmware unlocks a default power limit of 2,001 W, surpassing NVIDIA's official limit, and even allows for TDP adjustments down to 400 W to manage temperatures. Please note that this BIOS is only compatible with the 5090D variant, so attempting to flash it onto the regular 5090 will not work. This exclusivity aligns with GALAX's decision to release only one non-D HOF card globally, emphasizing that the true overclocking potential is reserved for the 5090D platform.
Utilizing liquid nitrogen cooling and precise voltage adjustments, they were able to increase the core clock speed to an impressive 3,650 MHz, achieving a record time of 39.434 seconds on the GPUPI 32B benchmark. The overclocking momentum also translated into graphics tests, with the GPU reaching 3,570 MHz on its core and 2,250 MHz on GDDR7 memory in 3DMark Port Royal, resulting in a score of 47,469 points. Additionally, the Unigine Superposition 1080p Extreme preset yielded 38,237 points, nearly 29% higher than the card's standard performance target. Extreme overclocking is far from reaching its limits, and with this XOC BIOS now available, other overclocking enthusiasts may attempt to set a new world record.
