Sapphire has introduced its latest flagship graphics card and motherboard, both featuring the new PhantomLink discreet power delivery technology. This advancement brings a fresh approach to powering high-performance GPUs, aiming to simplify cable management and enhance system aesthetics for PC builders and enthusiasts.

The highlight of Sapphire’s PhantomLink technology is a dedicated GC-HPWR power-delivery slot, positioned alongside the main PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot. This design is reminiscent of ASUS’s BTF solution, allowing the graphics card to draw power directly from the motherboard. As a result, users no longer need to connect a 12V-2x6 cable to the top of the graphics card, reducing cable clutter and minimizing the risk of damaging delicate connectors during installation.

However, unlike some competing solutions such as ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, or GIGABYTE Stealth, Sapphire’s motherboard does not adopt a full backside connectivity layout. All connectors, including the 600W-capable 12V-2x6 input, remain on the front side of the PCB, next to the standard 24-pin ATX connector. This input routes power directly to the GC-HPWR slot, ensuring stable and efficient power delivery to the graphics card.

The launch lineup includes the Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink PE graphics card and the NITRO+ X870EA PhantomLink Socket AM5 motherboard. Both products share a cohesive silver-white color scheme and the signature NITRO+ design, offering a visually unified appearance for custom builds.

The NITRO+ Radeon RX 9070 XT PhantomLink PE is an overclocked version of the RX 9070 XT, delivering enhanced performance while maintaining the robust features Sapphire is known for. The NITRO+ X870EA PhantomLink motherboard is available in two color trims—white and silver, or black and silver—catering to different aesthetic preferences.

This motherboard is engineered for high-end performance, featuring a premium CPU VRM solution, a substantial M.2 PCIe Gen 5 heatsink for optimal SSD cooling, a reinforced PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot for added durability, and advanced connectivity options including Wi-Fi 7, onboard high-fidelity audio, and USB4 support.

Showcasing at CES

Sapphire is set to present these new PhantomLink products, along with example PC builds, at CES next week. This launch marks a significant step forward in discreet power delivery and system design, offering both performance and visual appeal for modern PC enthusiasts.
